Eisgein Road Junction 261196. No vehicles permitted down Eisgein road between 0900 and 1200. A shuttle will operate between SC18 and Ceann Shiphoirt (Seaforth Head) 298163 for changeover runners and bikes (one bike only per team will be transported) and to bring out hill runners. The track from 277159 to Ceann Shiphoirt is cyclable by mountain bike. There may be a considerable wait at Ceann Shiphoirt so warm clothing must be taken for athletes both in and out. For logistical purposes, it is assumed that the runner on the section from SC17 to RCT will not be immediately used on the section from SC18 onwards, as there may a short delay before that runner is shuttled out. |
| RC Uniform | To be advised at SC18. 6 of the total northings required to be included for this section however completed. |

| Orienteering Course | An
orienteering course will take place in the Castle Grounds, starting
and finishing at points near to and to be advised at RCV. It will involve two team members each
of whom must complete the course alone and will be timed separately. The course will be a "scored" one over 50 minutes. Within this time, competitors must visit as many controls as they can, with difficult/distant controls being more valuable than near/easy ones. A penalty will be added, as is usual in such events, for over-running the time allocated. The score for each competitor will be expressed as a time which will be added to the overall race time. Details are here and there will be a briefing on Thursday evening at the Race HQ Teams without orienteering experience should contact their local branch of the BOF as soon as possible for information and guidance on techniques and training. The BOF website is here To assist logistics, the orienteering course may be done at any time from 1100 on. The two participants can do the course at different times. Your proposed arrangements must be set out in the Route Plan. From RCV, the route continues to SC20. If both orienteering courses have already been done, then teams can carry straight on at RCV |
