No vehicles will be permitted down the B887 from 138034.  There will be shuttles running along this road to carry people (including backup) and equipment to a number of locations where there will be tented shelter available for crews/athletes.  These will be at:

The bottom of the track at Miabhaig 101062
Junction of track and Abhainn Uisleitir at 103105
The junction of tracks at 056089; and
ED2 (see below)

Other locations may be added along the B887 and will be advised if so, and shuttles will stop at any location requested along the road.   Canoes will be transported from ED2 by trailer.  Please think ahead about what you will need to carry any equipment/spare clothing etc in that you may require.  Please also label sacks/bags etc in case they get separated.  Only one bike can be taken in for you

SD2   0630 Beach at Beasdaire, Berneray approx  933825.   Canoe to
SC11 Landing to north of Pier, An t-Ob 013864.

Canoes then accompany swim  from SC11 to:

SC12 Shore opposite school at An t-Ob 018867. Swim starts on arrival of canoeist or 0800, whichever is the earlier.  Any swimmers in mass start will have race safety cover. Clock for land section of day 2 runs from departure of swimmer.

If this swim is not done, the canoeist must continue to SC12, with the clock still running, and the same penalty as on Day 1 will be applied.

RC Juliet Location to be advised on arrival of the swimmer at SC12.  4 northings to be added to route plans for this section, however completed.  Northing 970 to be assumed for calculation of northings after this section and no further northings can be gained between SC12 and northing 970. Section from SC12 to 970 will take approx 1.5 hours.  Route continues to
RC Lima Trig Point Summit Beinn Dubh 089007.  No vehicles permitted down side road to   Losgantir (Luskentyre) from 096971.  Land route continues to SC13.  Unless returning to the road, the route taken from RCL  must be east as far as Ceann Reamhar 119991 then east again off the summit for the descent to Tarbert.   A checkpoint will be positioned on Ceann Reamhar        
2nd Canoe Leg (independent of land legs) Approx 1100.  From Traigh Niosaboist  approx 047970 to Corran Ra, Taransay  approx 045004 downarrow.gif (2060 bytes)
On arrival, canoeists run to Trig Point, Summit Beinn Ra 034019 and return to Corran Ra.  Clock stops here. On this run, Count 1.5 northings of the total northings required and when counting northings for the climb up to RC Lima, ignore the overlap with this section.

SC13 Tarbert, car park by Information Centre 158998.  Route continues to SC14 by bike via track from 177004.  Track quite good for first and last 1/3rd - some carry likely  in the middle.  No vehicles permitted down road from SC13 to start of track at 177004.
SC14 Bridge, Maraig 192057  Route to RC Mike must be run from here and mountain kit  will be checked at this point.  No vehicles permitted off main red road - parking as directed by marshals in laybays near Maraig road junction with main road 193064.  Northings are not affected by the bike section after this point - i.e. you gain northings from SC14 on
In parallel with the run route from SC14 there will be a bike section as below.  This section is timed separately from the run route and will be added to the total for the day.  The time of the biker in at SC14 will also be counted as the time of both biker and runner out from SC14 - i.e. the bike section must start immediately on arrival at SC14
Bike Section

May be undertaken by one or more team members.  The mountain bike prize will be awarded for a  single biker on the section from 186116 to 101063, which we will time separately for this purpose

RC Oscar Summit Teileasbhal 126091  Descent must be via Gleann Uisleitir valley to the NW. A shuttle for athletes will run up and down the track from 101063 to a shelter by the junction of the track and Abhainn Uisletir at 103105. 
RC Papa Summit Ullabhal 086114
Descent must be to the north of Creag Nioscar.  Route continues to RC Quebec via track starting at 056089 and saddle at approx 040112.  A shuttle will run between the start of the track and the dam at 069098

Alternatively, tracks north from 101063 and 052078 may be cycled for changeovers if you do not wish to use shuttle service
