western isles challenge
possible friday activities

We have made provisional arrangements for the following activities.  Please e-mail Stephanie with numbers you think might be interested.  Your chance for a sociable wind-down and some activities you might not get the chance to do again, having come such a long way! There will be small charges for each activity (except the peats!) but we can't give precise details until we know possible party sizes.

All activities will start late morning and will be close to Stornoway (except climbing)

Canoeing - a leisurely paddle in the Stornoway area, suitable for all abilities.  Canoes can be hired and some tuition available.   Your chance to discover what those idle kayakers get up to that's lost you so much time ...

Climbing - guided climbs in Lewis

Peat Cutting - traditional island activity at this time of year.  Generally associated with some (or even significant) imbibing of lubricants of one kind or another.  Take home a lump of your very own heating fuel and amaze your friends with a skill you can be sure absolutely no one else on the block will have!

Sailing - trips on An Sulair, a traditional Lewis fishing boat

Callanish - a trip around the famous standing stones
